How to Fix Kodi No Stream Availalbe [2024 Latest Solutions]

What is Kodi No Stream Available Error?

Since you are here, it is safe to assume that you already know how to use Kodi.

Kodi lets you watch movies and shows through video addons. These addons scrape the internet to find the streaming links for the content you have requested to watch (such as a film or episode of a TV series). The streaming links are hosted by third-party providers.

You can watch your favorite content as long as there is a streaming link. However, when Kodi cannot get any streaming link from any provider, you get the Kodi no stream available error.

Why Did I Create this Post?

I’ve faced this error many times, and I know how frustrating it can be. After researching online, I discovered that I’m not alone—many others experience the same issue.

That’s why I decided to share the solutions that have worked for me to help others resolve this problem too.

How Did I Find the Solutions?

The solutions in this guide are the result of extensive trial and error. I experimented with different approaches and discovered effective ways to resolve the Kodi No Stream Available issue.

I also researched online and found additional fixes on websites like TroyPoint. However, I only included methods that I personally tested and verified multiple times. It took me nearly seven months to compile all the solutions.

That said, this troubleshooting guide is a work in progress. As Kodi evolves, so do its challenges. I continuously update this guide to ensure the information remains relevant and helpful.

Can This Issue Be Fixed?

Yes, in most cases you can easily fix the issue.

What Causes This Error?

This error can occur for several reasons. Here’s a quick list:

  • Your ISP might be blocking access to streaming links.
  • There may not be enough streams available for the content you want to watch.
  • There could be a problem with your streaming device.
  • The addon may be malfunctioning.
  • Cache buildup could be impacting performance.
  • Streaming providers might be temporarily offline.
  • The addon version may be outdated.
  • The video might have been removed or is no longer available.
  • Your internet connection might be too slow.

How to Troubleshoot Kodi No Stream Available Error

Let’s explore some of the solutions to fix the issue.

1. Use a VPN to bypass ISP restrictions on streaming links

Your ISP can monitor all your online activities and actively block specific types of traffic to and from your device.

For instance, ISP Grande, a Texas-based internet service provider, was fined $43 million for failing to terminate accounts involved in piracy. This case highlights the level of access ISPs have to your online behavior, including streaming on Kodi.

Kodi often relies on unverified streaming links from third-party providers. ISPs commonly identify and block streams from many of these providers, which can lead to the “No Stream Available” error on Kodi.

You IP address IP address [show_ip] is used to trace all your activities back to you. This IP address is assigned by your ISP.

A VPN is the best way to unblock streams blocked by your ISP. I recommend ExpressVPN with Kodi.

How Does ExpressVPN Help?

ExpressVPN hides your IP address and secures your online activities with military-grade encryption. This ensures that even when you access third-party streaming link providers, your ISP cannot detect or block them.

With ExpressVPN, your streaming requests through Kodi are disguised as regular internet traffic, allowing you to bypass restrictions.

This is how ExpressVPN helps unblock streaming links and resolve the issue effectively.

2) Resolving the Issue with Real Debrid Link Generator

The “Kodi No Stream Available” error occurs when Kodi is unable to locate any working links. Real Debrid, a premium link generator, can resolve this issue by providing access to high-quality, reliable links when integrated with your addon.

Real Debrid costs around $4 per month but significantly improves your streaming experience with faster and higher-quality links.

Free streaming links are accessible to everyone, which overwhelms the servers hosting them, often causing downtime or poor performance. In contrast, Real Debrid servers are exclusive to paid users, ensuring minimal traffic and superior streaming quality.

You may read more about setting up Real Debrid with Kodi addons or follow these quick steps:

1. Sign up for Real Debrid Here

2. I’ll use the Asgard Kodi addon to demonstrate how to set up Real Debrid. The steps for other addons are generally quite similar. From the Kodi home screen, navigate to Addon and select Asgard.

click asgard

3. Open Asgard Settings.

click asgard settings

4. Select Asgard Debrid from the left menu. On the right side, make sure the Asgard Enable debrid service is turned on

5. Make sure Real-Debrid is selected in the Asgard Choose debris service menu.

6. Click Asgard Re-auth Real-Debrid.

7. Take note of the code displayed on your Kodi screen. Then, visit https://real-debrid.com/device and enter the code to authorize real debrid on Asgard.

3) Clearing Kodi Cache

Over time, using Kodi addons can lead to a significant buildup of cached data.

This cache can interfere with an addon’s functionality and may trigger the “Kodi No Stream Available” error.

Check out our guide, How to Clear Cache on Kodi, for detailed steps to remove cached data.

Once you’ve cleared the cache, restart the Kodi app for the changes to take effect.

4) Enable Providers/Sources

If providers are disabled, you might experience the “Kodi No Stream Available” error. While providers are typically enabled by default, it’s a good idea to double-check their status.

For this demonstration, I’m using the Magic Dragon addon. While the steps may vary slightly for other addons, the process is generally similar. Here’s how to check:

1. Open the addon and select Tools or Settings.

2. Select Sources on the left side and Enable all on the right.

click providers

3. Select the General button on the left and click Enable All Providers.

5) Uninstall & Reinstall the Kodi addon

If none of the previous methods resolve the issue, you might consider uninstalling and reinstalling the addon. Starting fresh can often fix the “No Stream Available” error.

For this demonstration, I’ll use The Crew addon. However, the steps to uninstall are the same for any addon.

Uninstall the addon

Here’s how to uninstall any addon on Kodi:

1. Open Kodi and navigate to Settings (the cog icon) on the home screen.

Reinstalling the addon

After uninstalling the addon, you can reinstall it.

In this guide, we used The Crew addon as an example. For detailed steps, check out our guide on The Crew addon on Kodi.

6) Try a Faster & Stable Internet Connection

A slow internet connection often causes Kodi’s “No Stream Available” error and can reduce video quality. For a smooth streaming experience:

  • Use a strong Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure your internet speed is at least 10 Mbps; 50 Mbps is ideal.
  • Test your speed with tools like the Internet Speed Test App or visit Speedtest.net.

If your connection slows down temporarily:

  • Restart your router or modem:
    1. Unplug the device from the power outlet.
    2. Wait 10-15 seconds.
    3. Plug it back in and allow it to restart.
  • Contact your ISP(Internet Service Provider) if the issue persists.

If the No Streams Available error problem isn’t resolved, try this guide’s other solutions.

If videos lag, switch to a lower resolution. High-definition content requires faster internet speeds. Streaming in a lower resolution can reduce lag and improve playback.

8) Try Streaming Different Sources

Kodi addons usually provide multiple sources for each video. If you encounter a “No Stream Available” error, try switching to another source, as the original link may be temporarily unavailable.

9) Ensure the Video Source is Available

Sometimes, the content may no longer be accessible:

  • Older movies or TV shows may lack active sources.
  • Newly released content might not have reliable links yet.
If the video has been removed or is no longer online, it won’t play.

10) Ensure the Kodi Add-on You Are Using is Working

To ensure Kodi functions correctly, you need a reliable and regularly updated addon. Using outdated or abandoned addons is a common reason for the “No Streams Available” error.

It’s not unusual for once-popular Kodi addons to become inactive or stop receiving updates. While these addons may still display categories and titles, they often fail to provide actual streaming sources. In such cases, switching to a functional addon is essential to resolve the issue.

To check if an addon is still operational:

  • Try playing a few movies or TV episodes from different categories.
  • If any titles play, the addon is likely still working.
  • If nothing plays, explore other addons from our Best Kodi Addons list to find a working option for your content.

11) Have Multiple Kodi Add-ons Installed

Install multiple addons for on-demand, live TV, or sports content. If one addon fails, others can serve as backups.

If you watch on-demand content, have at least two on-demand Kodi addons. The same goes for live TV content, Sports content, etc.

This will ensure you always have options if any addon fails to work.

12) Update the Outdated Add-on

Outdated addons can cause no stream error. Addon developers come with new updates regularly.

Here’s how to update them (using The Crew as an example, it can be done for any addon):

1. Go to Kodi Home Screen > Settings (Gear Icon)

click versions

If there is an update available, your Kodi addon will get updated. This should solve your Kodi error.

13) Clear Cache and Providers Fix the Kodi No Stream Available Error

A buildup of cached data can cause the “No Stream Available” error on Kodi. Clearing the cache and providers within an addon can help resolve this issue. Below are the steps to do so. (For this demonstration, I’m using The Crew addon. The steps might vary slightly for other addons.)

1. Open the addon by navigating to Kodi Home Screen > Add-ons > Video Add-ons.

Select the Tools or Settings option (depending on the addon).

2. Click Clear Cache.

3. If you see a popup on screen, click Yes.

4. Select Clear Providers

5. Select Yes.

Following the steps outlined above should help you discover better links for the movie or TV show you’re trying to watch.

14) Increase the Provider Timeout Limit

Kodi addons have a preset duration for searching streaming links. If no links are found within this time, the addon times out and stops searching.

By increasing the timeout limit, you give the addon more time to scrape the internet for streams, improving the chances of finding a working link.

For this demonstration, I’ll use The Crew addon. The names of tools or settings may vary slightly in other addons.

1. Open Settings or Tools.

click settings

2. Click Playback on the left and Providers Timeout on the right.

Note: This may appear differently for other addons.

3. It can be increased to up to 60 seconds.

By increasing the provider’s timeout option, you are likely to find more links to stream movies and shows.

If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall Kodi. For FireStick users, check our guide on reinstalling Kodi.

For other devices, download Kodi from the official website.

I have The Crew and Real Debrid running on a Vero 4K.
Today I started getting No Stream Available.
I have cleared the cache, deleted the add on, redownloaded it and reinstalled it. I reset real Debrid priority tp 90 and reauthorized. I think that more than covers all the actions on your list. What else?

    1. Nick

      Hi Steve,

I apologize for the late reply. I was away.

The Crew with Real Debrid is pulling streams now. You may have encountered a temporary problem.

Hi, I have exodus redux and venom and numb3er5 and all of them say no stream available, I have followed all the above steps and installed ipvanish and got a real debrid account. I dont know what more to do! Please help!!

    1. Nick

      Hi,

It seems to be working fine for me. Perhaps, it was a temporary issue. Go ahead and try using the addons again.

  3. Mr r

I have 2 tv’s side by side. 2 fire sticks with exodus redux installed. 1 of them can stream as expected, no issues. Which would cover testing and issues of my ISP, my network connection, etc.. being issues. 1 of them works .
But the other goes to no-stream pretty quickly, the box closes pretty fast, it does not even try.
The difference between the two installs? far as ican see the one that works uses LambdaScrapers, the one that does not work uses OpenScrapers.
It is November 2020. I cannot find any place to download the LambdaScrapers, and I cannot get the Openscrapers to work.
And I have more than these all work if Lambda is used. I wish I could export the Lambda from the firestick, but I cannot. Should have stored them on my own server i guess… Any ideas on getting OpenScrapers to work. Every website repeats the same mundane solutions. Looking for real answers.
    Thank you for the post.

    1. Nick

      Hi,

Honestly, I am not sure if it is possible to use Lambda Scrapers with the current version of Exodus Redux anymore. You may want to open the Scraper Settings from the home screen of the addon and click General > Enable All Providers.

If this doesn’t work, you may want to consider using Real Debrid. I am confident it will change things dramatically. Here is the guide: https://www.toptvtricks.com/real-debrid-kodi-firestick/

  4. JANICE WILLIAMS

I have the Kodi No limits build, so I am using the addons (7of9, venom, neptune, Release, etc) that came with it; I get No streams no matter which one I try to play. I have reinstalled the build several times to no avail. Solution?

    1. Nick

      Hi Janice,

Are you using a VPN? Also, have you tried using Real Debrid?

  5. Shaun Edmeads

Hi I’m using exodus redux and when I find a film I won’t to watch it finds streams and then in the right corner of the screen it starts to play movie then stops every time, please help me fix this issue, many thanks.

    1. Nick

Hi Shaun, are you using Real Debrid?

  6. Ben

Using Exodus Redux, Real Debrid, VPN. I cleared cache, wifi speed is good, uninstalled and reinstalled Exodus Redux. Basically did all the suggested fixes. It was working fine 2 days ago. Then today, i keep getting the no stream available on all movies. There were no changes to the Fire Stick 4K and Kodi. Is there a temporary issue with Exodus?

    1. Nick

      Hi Ben,

Yes, it seems there was a temporary issue with Exodus. I just checked and it is pulling tons of streams with RD and a few streams without it as well. I also played a bunch of streams and they played videos smoothly.

Try again. It should work. If it doesn’t, uninstall and reinstall Kodi and then the Exodus addon.

  7. Kelly

I have Kodi on a Fire Stick and I started getting “no stream available” about a month ago. I have tried every option on your list and still nothing works. I got a VPN, signed up for real debrid, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, tried different add-ons. Nothing works. I know my fire stick is a few years old and there are newer ones available but would that fix the problem? All other apps seem to have no issues on my fire stick.

    1. Nick

      Hi Kelly,

Buying a new FireStick may not necessarily solve the problem. Could you please tell me which addons are you using currently?

  8. Sarz

I tried everything to fix the no stream available nothing worked used my gut instinct and tried increasing the Returned Sources mine was 100 increased it to 300 and now I am getting streams, go into tools then provider settings, I’m using the Crew went into playback then Returned Sources make sure click on ok once you’ve increased the number.

  9. Sam

Hi I am only recieving stream not available for tv shows. Movies are fine no problem . I have tried everything outlined in your repair instructions bit still cannot stream tv shows. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    1. Nick

      Hi Sam,
